Halos 2by ~Dekus

Digital Art / 3-Dimensional Art / Scenes / Futuristic & Sci-Fi

We had a 3d camera projection mapping task at schools post-production course.

I wanted to do something different - so i painted my own picture that i projected onto the 3d geometry.

Many thanks goes to Tuomas Korpi who helped me out with the concept stage.

I just watched the final animation you uploaded to youtube and it's very cool! You are really getting good at what you do. School seems to be a good thing compared to training on own.

Is it btw hard to project your paintings to 3D surfaces? Ofcourse you have to create the geometry and all, but is the projecton phase complicated?

Im glad you liked it. I'd really like to make more projection paintings! Its pretty fun!

The projecting phase itself is easy.. but.. dealing with Alpha channels, gamma settings, uv's and resolution is HELL.
